Community Development through Social Entrepreneurship – Ukraine

Support of social entrepreneurship and promotion of sustainable NGO work in Ukraine

Civic Engagement
Ongoing

Duration:

January 2020 – March 2021

Goals

The project is aimed at enabling sustainable community development in Ukraine by improving the capacity of community-based CSOs to generate income for community development, improve their financial viability and make their communities resilient.

Working method

The goal will be achieved through providing learning and consultancy opportunities for community-based organisations to start social enterprises. This will be done by the combination of offline and on-line trainings (blended course) as well as learning from best practices (local and international). Existing experience and knowledge of IZ will be adapted to Ukrainian realities with the help of international and Ukrainian experts.

Target groups:

Non-profit organizations, especially community foundations and youth banks

Participating organisations:

ISAR-Ednannia (Ukraine)

Connecting factors

The project is based on IZ’S experience in supporting civic engagement and community development in its focus regions of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, in particular with the projects “Community Development through Social Entrepreneurship” (CODE-SE) and “Training of Trainers for Social Entrepreneurship” and on the blended blended learning program on Social Entrepreneurship that was developed by our partners ICIRLD and Kasa. In Ukraine, the project will be implemented by our local partner ISAR-Ednannia.
