You would like to promote a positive approach to diversity and receive impulses for diversity- sensitive teaching? In cooperation with the University College of Teacher Education Vienna, IZ offers trainings for teachers. The seminars offer background information on the topics of diversity and prejudice-conscious education, methodical examples, space to exchange experiences and suggestions for working together successfully in an intercultural context.

Contents

Prejudices shape our perception, our social coexistence and therefore everyday life in education. The seminar introduces the concept of prejudice-conscious education, offers space for self- reflection regarding individual prejudices and analyses methods and approaches to stereotypes. There is a focus on exercises which can be implemented with the children in school and on becoming familiar with prejudice-conscious material for everyday life in school, self- reflection as well as the exchange between the participants.
