Erasmus+ is the EU funding scheme for education, youth and sports. Projects from the extracurricular youth sector, such as exchanges of youth groups from different countries, the mobility of qualified youth workers as well as projects furthering the dialogue between young people and politicians are funded. Europe-wide funds available until the end of 2020 amount to 1.4 billion Euros.

IZ is responsible for the implementation of Erasmus+ Youth in Action on behalf of the Federal Chancellery – Federal Ministry for Labour, Family and Youth. The programme is divided into three areas eligible for funding. There are three deadlines per year.
Encounters of youth groups from different countries as well as the exchange of and training for professionals in youth work are funded.
Young people aged 13 to 30 years as well as persons and organisations working with this target group

Within the framework of strategic partnerships, activities and projects aiming at innovation and exchange of good practices in the youth and education sector are promoted.
Within the framework of youth dialogue, encounters between young people and politicians are funded.
